In India, who doesn't know what navratri is. A festival of nine nights to do dhin chak dhin chak with lots of traditional songs and music....all that shimmer, all that glitter is the only pride us youngsters know about....Its the elders who know the importance of navratri while the youth is busy getting dressed nicely to woo a few others at the ground festivals.
The fest starts in every evenings of the nine days till midnight, with a few hymns sung to the deity Mother Durga to worship them and then starts the traditional sunburn. Loud music that makes your heart beat out of your ears with the worst sound systems. Traffic jammed with girls hurrying to meet their friends before the makeup wears off with the sweat and humidity due to duppattas tied around like some terrorists, rickshaw-walas taking sharp turns without judgement, boys racing on the bikes with colorful kedyus on... how funny the scene looks before reaching the destination.
Light systems that can been all the way from Paldi area to Satellite area, people in all sorts of colorful attire makes the festival grounds look as if paints are scattered all over like ants and running about...
You can never get tired of it...
