step 1- install autoCAD from the authorized website www.autodesk,com. download the free student software as its available for a period of 3 years, it doesn't matter if you really belong to a university or not, simply enter the name of any existing and functioning university you know of.
step2- follow all instructions mentioned in the website. make sure you have a clear space of atleast 3giga bytes in your computer hard disk.
step3- welcome to AutoCAD.
for those audience who have entered the field of arts and architecture or are soon to enter or are planning to enter the field, this is the right place to come to.

the top left corner shows you the tabs. just like any internet browser you can view, save and work on multiple files at a time and switch between them easily by using the tabs.
just ignore the getting started section, it wont help you.
the recent documents shows you the most recently opened and saved documents you have been working on.
the other two windows Notifications and Connect tell you information about any notifications that helkpl improve the usablitiy of the software and connect lets you to connect to autodesk360
autodesk 360 is a cloud storage system that allows you to save your files on the cloud that are easily accessable anytime anywhere over an internet connection. i would prefer everyone to sign up to autodesk360 and create an account to save their files time to time.
there are applications available on Apple iStore and Google PlayStore for viewing CAD files.
download them from the respective wesbite and be able to edit and share them via mobile, and tablet.
i have created by account in autodesk360 and you can see my email address on the top right side of the window next to binoculars icon. my files are saved to the cloud automatically.
the binoculars icon and the search bar next to it, is a search bar that lets you search anything in the software you cannot figure out how to work with. for example if you dont know how to use a polyline, simply type in polyline and you will get the help window for the respective search title.
step4- to open a new page in the autoCad software
click on the first icon, the folded page icon and you get a window like this above.
choose autocadiso (this is selected by default) and click ok.
you get your new workspace to begin with.
