lets jump to the topic straight ahead

this blog deals with how to split ur site into zones for easy designing

easy steps to follow with pictures

(the main purpose was to help a junior student from my college to zone his site)

project title - kindergarten
location - Hyderabad
climate - temperate zone
area - not specified, choose 40% of the area for the building ground coverage
and the rest shall be allocated for playground, parking, driveways and other services.

step 1- draft the given site onto your sheet
dont miss out on the dimensions and the location of north
mention the suitable scale the site was drafted in

make a list of all the requirements. i.e. all the elements that constitute the building & site construction, function and form

step 2 - overlay a butter sheet or a gateway sheet or anything transparent that allows you to look through the sheet. the sheet underneath it shall be visible.
if it is not visible the overlay is too thick.

step 3- start mapping the elements that belong to the site onto the overlay sheet.
you may scribble as much as you want with overlays. it helps attain the final result.

try as much as u can to keep the building and zoning in scale. it helps you give an idea how ur building may look like

dont forget to hydrate yourself!!!!! listen to music for a while as u work. it helps a lot to clear the mind

make a to do list. keep adding tasks in it, it helps complete the project thoroughly without missing out on anything

step 4 -

concentrate on these images. the way the zoning  was carried out. a simple sketch. highlighting the regions within a building

use different colored pens for easy understanding

keep trying different
fonts it makes the sheet look presentable

i always use stabilo as they run smoothly on butter sheet and gateways

you may have achieved a slight idea by now as to how you can zone your site with ease.

there are several methods to do it

which i will mention in my further blogs............

keep imagining!!
