Why do people love horror movies? 

The success of horror movies like 'Paranormal Activities' and the classic 'Exorcist' has left    many scientists wonder, why people love spooky genre so much. Experts say that it's not merely an attraction to blood and gore that people give money to get scared. Researchers have said that this could be because the thrill calls up primal behavior, mainly in males to assess threat levels.

. You can choose your entertainment because you want it to affect you. That's certainly true of people who go to entertainment products like horror films that have big effects. They want those effects.

If you're not a horror movie fan, you may be puzzled about why people put themselves through the ordeal of watching such movies. Many behavioral researchers share your puzzlement, giving rise to a term: the "horror paradox".

 "No doubt, there's something really powerful that brings people to watch these things, because it's not logical," Joanne Cantor, PhD, director of the Center for Communication Research at University of Wisconsin, Madison. "Most people like to experience pleasant emotions."

  Personally, I am one of those people who like getting goosebumps on me and actually pays for this, so what if i can't really go back home alone in the night?
