We were all excited at one point about being behind the wheel however have you ever thought of the certain dangers of driving. It may not even be your fault, it could be the other drivers in your surroundings. To make roads a lot safer for other drivers and pedestrians here are a few factors you should avoid.
Alcohol and drug
intake
Any dosage of alcohol or drugs can have an impact on your
visual functioning, driving and reaction time. Therefore it’s best to be safe
than sorry and stick to the true alcohol and drug intake limit 0.0
Use your phone
while driving
Driving requires your full attention and that includes
having your eyes on the road. Reading or writing a text message is a
distraction no matter what. Speaking on the phone is also a distraction as you
tend to pay more attention to the conversation than your driving skills.
Fall asleep
Never drive when tired or drowsy. To prevent drowsiness,
switch drivers or stop to rest. Getting sufficient sleep is easy the only way
to prevent drowsiness while driving.
Get emotional
There’s no problem in getting emotional, just not while you’re
on the road. Never get into your vehicle and start driving while being in an
emotional state. Your mind will be focused on the problems and worries instead
of being focused on the road. Also when a driver is either upset or angry the
individual tends to become a much more aggressive driver. Putting themselves
and other drivers in danger.
Multi-task
Although we all multi-task very well, no one should
multi-task too much, especially while driving. We’ve all done it, applying
make-up or eating on our way to work. Although these tasks are harmless, they
divert your attention away from the road.
