RANVEER SINGH EXPRESSED HIS INSIDE VIEWS
Ranveer Singh said, "Aditya is a great guy. But he has never said good things to me."
“I feel lucky and fortunate to be working for Aditya. He is a great guy. But he has never said good things to me. He just scolds me. He just says good job and not more than that,” Ranveer Singh said in an interview.
“Mr Bachchan is more than the reason for me to become an actor. I wanted to become actor because I used to watch Hindi films and was inspired by him. The cast and crew of the film were all youngsters so the atmosphere was energetic,” he added.
in his upcoming film ‘Kill Dil’. “I have a special bond with him. He treats me like his son. I am huge fan of his. I love the way he dances, I used to copy him when I was in school. May be his contemporaries are still ruling the roost, but the fact is nobody ever had a talent like him,” Ranveer Singh said.
Actor Ranveer Singh, who got his big break in Bollywood in an Aditya Chopra film, says the shy producer has never praised his work and rather scolded him.
HERE ARE THE FEW THINGS RANVEER SHARED IN A INTERVIEW
Moving on to your personal life, have you found that stories of you and Deepika Padukone take away from your work?
It definitely did last year. I was not happy with the situation at all and have decided to not be so vocal about my personal life. At one point of time, people were only writing about that and no one was talking about my work. It's crazy because I'm here to be an actor, not to be famous.
You couldn't handle it?
See, I was never prepared for it because I didn’t grow up around famous people. I didn't know what it was like to deal with the menace of camera phones. People focussed on everything except on what I was here to do. I was new, so I didn’t know what to say or do in interviews. I was always used to being the centre of attention in a social space but not at the level where if I do a chivalrious thing like escorting a lady out, it becomes fucking national news. It’s preposterous.
Do you think fame will change you as a person?
I can’t deny that it will have some effect. I guess I just have to keep acting and the rest is just peripheral stuff. I got a big lecture from a friend before starting 'Kill Dil' who told me that my head wasn't in the game anymore. See, a lot of good things started happening after 'Ram-Leela'. Phones starting ringing, PR, live events, endorsements, business. My friend told me that I needed to stop being all over that stuff, because that was not the shit and I was losing focus of what mattered. I needed to be spending time with scripts and I wasn't doing it. And so I turned over a new leaf and am now newly obsessed with things like dialogue rehearsals and honing my dance moves. I'm really missing being on a film set and am itching to go back.Have you ever needed to justify something said or written to a co-star?
Never. When I was new to the game and wasn't used to being written about in a negative light, it used to upset me and my parents for weeks. I finally learned to cut down that time to three days, a day, an hour, a minute and finally to stop thinking it was worth any of my time.
So the story about roughing up a photographer at Ahana Deol's wedding is...
Absolutely untrue. The reception was done and we'd moved to a private space. I was having a good time when I noticed that there was a guy clicking away with a professional camera - and he was not the official wedding photographer for whom I'd be happy to pose. I started gesturing at him to stop but maybe he thought I was waving at him and kept on taking photos. I finally had to walk up to him and ask him to stop. However it was blown out of proportion.
And finally, tell us what you're doing next.
Working with Govinda is a dream come true. He's been my idol and sometimes it's so surreal that I think I'm in a dream when I share the set with him. I will definitely be dancing with him in the film and I'm really excited about that. I'm also doing Zoya's next with Priyanka Chopra.
